Bambarakanda Waterfalls of Sri Lanka (Bambarakanda Ella)

Bambarakanda Waterfalls of Sri Lanka(Bambarakanda Ella)

The highest waterfall in Sri Lanka is the Bambarakanda Ella, with a height of 865 feet. The main access to the falls is via Haputale and the force of the winds causes the gushing waters to quiver and sway.

The fall is only four miles distant from the Colombo-Bandarawela route that passes in the form of a clear tract of road from the midsection of forest. Being a wet seasonal waterfall the Bambarakanda accelerates in gratifying speed mostly during the monsoon months of September to March. The white flow amidst wilderness is a sight worth watching.
